Clements Garden Club has been an integral part of the community in Clements Township since the club's inception. Over the years, the club has participated in a variety of projects and activities that have enriched the lives of club and community members.
Cornwallis Park
Veteran's Memorial Park is in the southwest portion of Cornwallis Park. Using plants contributed by club members, we will work to rehabilitate plantings in the park.
During 2025, an initial plan for the park was sketched, and trees were obtained from Bunchberry Nurseries and planted during the fall.
As of early August 2026, the club: received $2,000 from the Municipality of the County of Annapolis and $500 from the Parker Mountain Wind Turbine Society to fund rehabilitation work; refurbished existing flowerbeds in the park; replaced the 4 dilapidated signs at the park; obtained materials for benches to be installed in the park; and continued work with Veterans' Affairs Canada to move into the park a cenotaph currently adjacent to Highway 1 in Cornwallis Park.
Clark Rutherford Memorial School, Cornwallis Park
Club members will work with staff and students at the school to re-establish student gardening, providing plants, mentorship, and encouragement to the next generation of Clements Township gardeners.
