The club's regular meetings are held at 6:30 PM on the second Wednesday of the month from April through December. Meetings in April, May, June, September, October, and November are at Felker Hall in Cornwallis Park. Regular meetings usually feature a business meeting followed by a gardening-oriented presentation and refreshments.
The club holds a plant sale in Cornwallis Park on the first Saturday in June. All plants are sourced from members' gardens, many are unique or interesting cultivars, and all are priced reasonably to encourage gardening in the community.
Instead of a regular meeting in July, the club usually makes a field trip to a local garden, and in August, a pot luck is usually hosted at one of our member's homes. During the November meeting, the club holds an auction of member-donated items as a fundraiser for club activities throughout the year. The December meeting is a member Christmas party at Felker Hall.
The club is a vibrant mixture of charter members, long-time members, and newcomers. Membership is only $12 for the year; part of this pays for the club's membership in the Nova Scotia Association of Garden Clubs. New members are always welcome!
